Studying the bible is a passion. It lights a fire in my mind. Uncovering and wrestling with the tensions set within God's prolonged written consistency occupies every faculty at my disposal. Right now I'm learning to read and translate Biblical Greek. I've included a picture of my textbook. I can't describe how fascinating this really is. Every sentence is like solving a puzzle. The truth is revealed from unintelligible marks on a page. What was previously unknown has become known. In short--the Bible translates. The very words of God speak and can be understood by everyone who has ears to hear. The discipline of translation does anything but quench the passion for Christ that I enjoy. On the contrary, it stokes it higher, forcing me to come to grips with the forms that God has chosen to reveal himself in. For my personality, nothing could be more stimulating. Even dummies can learn the Bible--which is fitting, because that is who it was written for.

I love how passionate about the bible my hubby is. He has also inspired me to dive deeper into the word, as we have family reading time together at night!
